Barbara Cole
"RAINE"

Barbara grew up in a small town in the San Joaquin Valley where she rode horses, sailed a sunfish, and brought home many a stray animals. At age 7 she decided she was going to be an actress.
At 18 she moved to San Diego, and earned her BFA in Drama w/ an emphasis in acting from SDSU. Post college she earned her Actors Equity card, her AFTRA card, and SAG eligibility - in San Diego. She was ready to take her shot in LA. She got married and raised two smart and sassy kids instead - in San Diego.
In their small hilltop community (population 2,700) just outside of San Diego, Barbara served faithfully on the PTA, campaigned for healthier school lunches (passed ACR 16 in ’03), and coordinated the elementary school talent show for many years. Life was good. And then one day she remembered - in her heart of hearts - she was an actress. It was time for a change.
After close to a decade of being away from the spotlight, she wrote and performed Surviving Chrysalis, a one-woman-show about motherhood and midlife. She took “Best of Fest” in the annual San Diego Actors Festival. It was time for a move.
In the spring of ’07 she and her husband, two teenage kids, 6 cats and 2 dogs moved to the OC, within commuting distance of Los Angeles. In 2008 she performed on her first LA stage, which landed her a commercial agent, began studying with top acting coach, Kimberly Jentzen, starred in 3 short films, and had her first television co-star for CBS. In her spare time she is still an environmental and children’s advocate with her non-profit organization, Lean and Green Schools.
Her next project is starring in the new webisode series, Head Space, premiering Summer ’09. The family is enjoying coastal living, and a happy mom who is fulfilled and living her dream.
